“If you play sports long enough, like you’re going to get injured, right? I think some kids have this idea of just like, you know, as long as I do, you know, what I’m supposed to do, like I’m to be all good, right? Like, That’s just not how it works, man. Like when you’re chasing outputs, when you’re trying to win, when you’re kind of trying to like continue to raise that, you know, level of competition and work and everything that you’re trying to do as a team, kids are going to get hurt, right? We can do everything we can to mitigate those things, but it’s a reality. think a lot of kids need to do a better job of understanding and we need to do a better job as coaches of explaining those realities.”
